Pediatrics and Family Practice Medicine
Adults and children often have similar medical conditions that can be treated with standard therapy. However, in some cases these distinct groups need specialized care. Our patients benefit from having one clinic that is able to care for a range of age groups.
The Family Medicine specialty, as established by the American Academy of Family Physicians, has grown immensely over the past 25 years. This specialty allows the patient population to entrust one health care provider with the care of an entire family from birth to the final days of life. Family Physicians thrive on being able to care for the growing child, through adolescence, to young adulthood.
The Family Physician studies the full spectrum care of all disease processes and works in close conjunction with local specialists. If severe disease processes warrant more in depth medical care, direct communications with local specialists are established to ensure complete care is achieved in a timely manner. We stay in contact with the specialist so that the patient can return to the primary care provider to continue the established specialty treatment plan. The basis of Family Medicine is to provide continuity of healthcare through ones entire life. The patient-physician relationship develops over time and becomes a special bond that can last a lifetime, as a child and then as an adult.
So why should we provide Family Medicine services in an Urgent Care facility? We feel it is most important to provide you with the healthcare you need today. We will establish a long term and complete medical plan for you and your entire family. From that point on, we will specialize in treating you for long range goals and show you how to establish a preventive medicine plan that will keep you healthy for life.
